Age-based guides, routines & tips
Total Sleep
12–15 hours
Naps
2–3 naps per day
Bedtime
6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Around 4 months, your baby's sleep cycles mature and become more adult-like. This is a developmental leap, not a step backwards. Consistency is key.
Start a consistent bedtime routine — bath, feed, book, bed
Put your baby down drowsy but awake to encourage self-settling
Watch for wake windows — overtiredness makes settling harder
The 4-month sleep regression is normal — it will pass
Avoid feeding to sleep if you want to encourage independent sleep
